About ACESL

The Association of Consulting Engineers Sri Lanka (ACESL) is the national professional body representing consulting engineers in Sri Lanka. Established in 1980, ACESL was formed to promote the professional interests of consulting engineers and to advance the development of consulting engineering practice in the country.

ACESL is affiliated with the International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC), the global organization representing consulting engineering firms and professionals worldwide. Through this affiliation, ACESL actively engages with the international engineering community and promotes global best practices in engineering consultancy and infrastructure development.

The association comprises consulting engineering firms and individual professionals involved in a wide range of engineering disciplines including infrastructure development, project management, design consultancy, and specialized engineering services. ACESL was initially incorporated as a Company Limited by Guarantee and later established by Act of Parliament No. 42 of 2003, recognizing its national role in representing the consulting engineering profession.

Guided by its vision to be the apex association for consulting engineers in Sri Lanka and the highest recognized in the region, ACESL works to strengthen the profession by promoting high standards of practice, professional development, knowledge sharing, and collaboration among industry stakeholders.

Through its initiatives, ACESL contributes to the planning, development, and implementation of sustainable infrastructure projects while promoting the growth and international recognition of Sri Lankan engineering consultancy services.
